プロトタイプも！実写映画版『攻殻機動隊』。ガイノイド(芸者)や小物等の3DCGコンセプトアートの画像が公開！

実写映画版『攻殻機動隊』。予告編にも登場したガイノイドはインパクト大なデザインでした。
そのデザインをしたアーティストが、ガイノイドのコンセプトアートを公開しました。

この画像を公開したのはILMに努めるMaciej Kuciara氏。ガイノイドをデザインするまで数週間を要したようです。これらのアートはキャラクター作成CGソフト『DAZ3D』、スカルプトソフト『ZBrush』、衣装作成ソフト『Marvelous Designer』、レンダラーにOctane、Vray、3dsMax。更にPhotoshopでも調整されたとの事。


これは初期段階のガイノイドとの事。

ガイノイドのすっぴん状態でしょうか。ZBrushでCGモデルを作成。3dsmax、Vrayを使っているようです。Shaderはalsurface shaderとの事。

I wish I could say i spent weeks on designing geishas for the film. Truth is tho, each of these renders was approved on first go by Rupert. I will be posting them one by one as we go. Prior to tackling gynoid/geishas designs I had an opportunity to brainstorm ideas with costume designers Kurt and Bart which led to some interesting ideas to be at play. Overall these later changed and were more fully developed by Kurt and Bart and awesome team of WETA Workshop. Daz3D, Zbrush, Marvelous Designer and rendered in 3ds Max with Octane. The first of many many drops. Ghost in the Shell film is out in theaters and its time to start sharing some goodness. So back in 2014 I have received a call from @rupertmsanders with invitation to work on GITS film. It was my main reason to quit my job at Naughty Dog which I consider life-changing studio to this day. Fast forward 18 months when I wrapped my work on this project, I couldn't believe the sheer amount of experience this project has brought to me. I loved working with Rupert who gave me, Vitaly Bulgarov, Ash Thorp and other artists working on this project great creative freedom and good visual direction – two factors which make any job fun and enjoyable. So with this art drop kickoff, I want to give proper shoutout to Rupert for this amazing opportunity, production designer Jan Roelfs and supervising art director Richard Johnson for solid and precise direction during work on sets, costume designers Kurt and Bart for amazing collaborative effort on Major's thermoptics and Geishas, my best friend @ashthorp for rad as fuck collaborations on bikes and posters (which kickstarted the idea behind Learn Squared btw), @vitalybulgarov for making me look slow 😀 and awesome team at WETA and other art department artists who expanded on the director's vision and helped this film happen.
